Advocacy for CSR:
The legal corporate framework in Jordan does not inspire enough corporate responsibility, for instance corporate law merely focuses on financial reporting and there is very little monitoring on the implementation of other laws such as the Labor Law, as a result there isn't much incentive for companies to take on social activism, and employees continue to be exploited.
The Pain Killer:
CSR Watch Jordan takes on the responsibility to elevate stakeholder opinions to advocate for better corporate practices across all sectors in Jordan, one sector at a time. We look into doing this through:
- Increasing Stakeholder Awareness:
Before taking CSR for policy makers, it is essential that we cover stakeholder awareness of the issues at hand, and this includes:
- Stakeholder Rights (For Employees and Consumers);
- Stakeholder Power; and
- Stakeholder Responsibility.
We look into creating this awareness through our nation-wide workshop sessions, and communication channels which will be carried out through our workplace and marketplace reform projects.
- Streamlining Stakeholder Activism:
Creating channels for streamlining and organizing stakeholder activism to inspire more people to take part in disclosing corporate misbehavior and influence policy making.
- Influence Policy Making:
Supporting governmental institutions and business associations in drafting policies for CSR through effective stakeholder engagement and providing the necessary research and data.
